Origins of Good and Evil

Today we studied the first three chapters of Genesis, which explain the Christian understanding of HOW evil came into the world.
When I first heard these stories, I thought that God was very powerful and ashamed of what Adam and Eve had done.
We then created Wordles to see how the language changed in each chapter.
In the Wordle for chapter 1, the main words and ideas were the, and, God and was.
In the Wordle for chapter 2, the main words and ideas were God, man and lord.
In the Wordle for chapter 3, the main words and ideas were God, lord and eat.
In each Wordle God was a big word therefore was mentioned many times in each chapter and man, eat and Lord were smaller therefore were mentioned less in each chapter.
I think this means that God is always focused on in the bible than many other things.
I think the word temptation means we think about doing something we know is bad, but we do it anyway.
If I had to connect temptation with good and evil, I would say
Studying Genesis has helped in my journey to discover good and evil by explaining the difference between good and evil.

Religion and Philosophy

We have now found out about the beliefs of Christianity (religion) and Plato (philosopher) regarding good and evil.
Christianity believes that good is following the bible.
Christianity believes that evil is disobeying the bible.
This is different to what Plato believed.
Plato believed good and evil were an illusion that people believed were true.
This is called idealism.
When I look at these different ideas, the one that makes most sense to me is Christianity.
This is because I have been bought up in a Christian family.
After studying these new ideas, I think that good and evil could be described as the law and crime or obeying the Ten Commandments and disobeying the Ten Commandments.

My good & evil presentation

How do I know what’s good and evil

Good and evil are in our everyday lives it’s all around us we don’t always know if someone is good or evil. Good is normally the one that wins, but there are times that this is not true. Good is based on truth and beauty and evil will lead to suffering. Evil is based on revenge, jealousy and hate. If there is someone acting like they hate or don’t like you, you might want to be cautious around them because that could be a sign that they are evil. Good people will help others in need. There is a simple definition of good and evil. First good – This means the right thing, example being helpful, thankful. Secondly evil – the wrong thing, example stealing, murdering, committing adultery, these are all evil deeds. A summary, good and evil are hard to identify in a person, however if it’s beautiful and truthful there’s a good chance that it’s good.
